As an employee of Tampa Electric and TECO Energy you have an opportunity to become a member of The Electric Employees Benefit Association (TEEBA). TEEBA is an additional benefit that will supplement your current Aetna medical plan. Currently TEEBA has about 800 active and retired TECO members. This benefit only applies to the employee (dependents are not covered). TEEBA pays a portion of your out of pocket medical expenses incurred by you for illness or injury. Attached to this letter is a summary of the medical co‐pay coverage provided. The amount of dues you pay for this medical and death coverage is explained in the attached Benefits Summary and is payroll deducted.

To join TEEBA you must be an employee with less than 5 years of continuous employment and be a member of the company’s medical plan. If interested, please complete the attached Application and Medical Questionnaire and return both to the TEEBA office, P.O. Box 1335, Valrico, Florida 33595.

Upon receipt of your application and medical questionnaire, the Board of Directors of The Electric Employees Benefit Association will review your application. You will be contacted by our office to set up a time for dues to be deducted. When payroll begins to deduct your dues, you will then be eligible to apply for out of pocket medical expenses and a copy of our Articles of Incorporation and By‐Laws will be sent to you.
